New Project
Okay, loyal reader (I know there's one), it has come to my attention that I need to have something to do that I can blog about if, in fact, I am going to keep to my idea of keeping this blog going.
Well, what about all the funny things you keep posting??
I'l keep posting those...probably, but I need to focus my energies somewhere.
Where?
Well, with one of the greatest inventions of all time:
Beer!!
Behind bread and water, beer is basically the best invention I can think of that involves food or beverage or calories being consumed.
Beer is much more than just gas and water and microbes and flowers and grains coming together to form the trifecta (I know it's more than three thing, back up) of delicious possibilities. Beer has it's own subculture, it has a devoted fan base that tries all of the new and old styles as well as a loyal set of devotees that tries to make new styles and perfect the old ones. All of which are subcategories that I am proud to be involved in.
To this end, I am strating, tomorrow, my new project:

THE YEAR IN BEER!
Basically I'll be blogging one beer a day for 365 days. 365 different beers with my notes and thoughts and things I may have been doing while I was tasting these different concoctions of grains, water, yeast and hops.
Okay, it's not that original, I get it. Plenty of people have done something similar to this. Plenty have made this into more than just a year by turning it into a profession in the beer industry. That's cool. Good for them. I'm not looking to do that.
I just want to learn to take better tasting notes and to try and harness the power of this literary language called English to describe the various flavors and hues and everything in between that jumps to life in my mouth (that sounds dirty) to you, dearest Loyal Reader.
I'll also be open to suggestions from you of beers I should try. Do you have any?
What's your favorite?
So get ready. The first day starts tomorrow and I'll be sure to get that first post out there the very same day...okay. Well, maybe the day after ;)

Cheers, Loyal Reader.

Señor Bob: la continuación
What will happen to Bob and Janey and all the rest?
I can't really say. Of course, I'd love to hear your thoughts about the comics, how crappy the drawings are and how bad the jokes are.
I had more ideas for Bob and Janey. You know, wacky adventures and snarky comments and the whole lot. I even had some ideas for characters that didn't get used as you can see below.

So yeah, I had thought about putting together a book of just bad comics that I have found around the world in newspapers, like Cathy and The Family Circus and such and then interspersing into the pages and just ripping on him and the "Artist" that draws him and saying how much better Cathy or Jeffy are in comparison from technical standpoints like line thicknesses and artistic talent. It would of course be hilarious, but I don't see there being anything more than what i've drawn here coming out of me for awhile.
Though I do have all this pent up rage that I need to take out in comic form....ha ha.
Thanks for reading these or skipping over them. Feel free to leave a thought or two about them if you'd like.

promises kept
Okay, well, my previously discussed prior infatuation with webcomics posting on this blog has led me to track down the aforementioned "Señor Bob" comics that I drew while in school at Purdue working as a janitor.
Now, to refresh your memory in case you're too lazy to utilize the hyperlinked text to go back and read the posting (I would be): I love comic strips, Calvin & Hobbes, The Far Side, Bloom County, etc. All of them. When I was a kid my mom told me I'd have to draw my own when i told her I was sad that Calvin & Hobbes was going away. It didn't takein any serious way. Time passed, I got into webcomics, i drew the series of webcomics that were posted on here for the majority of March and had promised to post, if I found them and scanned them in, the "Señor Bob" series I had drawn while in school. Again, I had tried to get them into the Purdue school paper, but they were rejected, because, as you will soon see, they're not very good. Still not bitter about it, I still understand where the editor was coming from etc.
Now, without further ado, I give to you for the first time anywhere except my box of shattered dreams and the rejection pile from The Exponent:

This Past Saturday
I made donuts with my mixer.

I love my mixer and the donuts were just so good.

We ate the last of them this morning.
